Enabling SMTP Authentication in Mozilla
Thunderbird v 1.0
Step 1:
To enable SMTP Authentication in Mozilla Thunderbird v 1.0, while you are
in the program, click on "Tools". Next >>>

Step 2:
Select "Account Settings" from the menu that appears. Next
>>>

Step 3:
Select "Server Settings". Next >>>
Note: If you receive e-mail from a provider other than Frontier, your
account name *may* differ from what appears in the image below.

Step 4:
On the "Server Settings" window, if your server name is set to
pop3.frontiernet.net, pop3.citlink.net, or pop3.newnorth.net, make sure that
your complete FrontierNet, Citlink, or Newnorth e-mail address
is present in the "User Name" field.
If your server name is set to
mail.ctaz.com, make sure that your complete CTAZ e-mail
address is present in the "User Name" field, in the format of "username@citlink.net"
(replace "ctaz.com" with "citlink.net"). Please note, this will
*not* change your e-mail address.
On the "Server Settings" window, if your server name is set to something
other than pop3.frontiernet.net, pop3.citlink.net, mail.ctaz.com, or
pop3.newnorth.net, do not make any changes to your server
settings.
Select "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" to proceed. Next
>>>

Step 5:
If your outgoing mail server name is set to
smtp.frontiernet.net, smtp.citlink.net, mail.ctaz.com, or smtp.newnorth.net, select the box
to the left of "Use name and password". Enter your complete FrontierNet, Citlink
/ CTAZ, or Newnorth e-mail
address in the "User Name" field.
If you are using a CTAZ e-mail address, enter your e-mail
address in the "User Name" field in the format of "username@citlink.net"
(replace "ctaz.com" with "citlink.net"). Please note, your e-mail address will
*not* change.
Click "OK" to save
your changes. That's it! SMTP authentication has been enabled.
If your outgoing mail server name is set to something
other than smtp.frontiernet.net, smtp.citlink.net, mail.ctaz.com, or smtp.newnorth.net, no changes
need to be made at this time.
