Enabling SMTP Authentication in Your E-mail Client


Enabling SMTP Authentication in Pegasus Mail (v 4.3)


Step 1:

To enable SMTP Authentication in Pegasus Mail (v 4.3), while you are in the program, click on "Tools" and then select "Internet options".  Next >>>

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Step 2:

Select the "Receiving (POP3)" tab.  Next >>>

Note: If you receive e-mail from a provider other than Frontier, your Internet e-mail address *may* differ from what appears in the image below.


 

 

 

 

 

 


Step 3:

Select your POP3 host.  Click "Edit" to proceed.  Next >>>

Note: If you receive e-mail from a provider other than Frontier, your POP3 host name *may* differ from what appears in the image below.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Step 4:

If your "Server host name" is set to pop3.frontiernet.net, pop3.citlink.net, or pop3.newnorth.net, make sure that your complete FrontierNet, Citlink, or Newnorth e-mail address is present in the "User name" field.

If your "Server host name" is set to mail.ctaz.com, make sure that your complete CTAZ e-mail address is present in the "User name" field, in the format of "username@citlink.net" (replace "ctaz.com" with "citlink.net"). Please note, your e-mail address will *not* change.

If your "Server host name" is set to something other than pop3.frontiernet.net, pop3.citlink.net, mail.ctaz.com, or pop3.newnorth.net, do not make any changes to your settings for retrieving mail (POP3) information.

Step 5:

Select the "Sending (SMTP)" tab to proceed.  Next >>>

 

 

 

 

 

 


Step 6:

If your "server host name" is set to smtp.frontiernet.net, smtp.citlink.net, mail.ctaz.com, or smtp.newnorth.net, click the "Security" tab to proceed.  Next >>>

If your outgoing mail server is set to something other than smtp.frontiernet.net, smtp.citlink.net, mail.ctaz.com, or smtp.newnorth.net, no changes need to be made at this time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Step 7:

"Use SSL/TLS security on this connection" should be set to "Never". Under "SMTP Authentication", place a checkmark in the box to the left of "Login to the SMTP server using the following details".

Enter your complete FrontierNet, Citlink / CTAZ, or Newnorth e-mail address in the "Username" field. If you are using a CTAZ e-mail address, enter your e-mail address in the "Username" field in the format of "username@citlink.net" (replace "ctaz.com" with "citlink.net"). Please note, your e-mail address will *not* change.

Enter your password in the "Password" field.  Click "OK" to proceed.  Next >>>

 

 

 

 

 

Step 8:

Click "OK" at the bottom of the window.  That's it! SMTP Authentication has been enabled.
